Barn Quilts

A barn quilt is a large, painted quilt pattern displayed on the outside of a barn, building, or other structure. Despite the name, it is not made of fabric. Instead, it is usually created from wood or metal panels and painted to resemble the geometric blocks found in traditional quilts.

Barn Quilt Trail! Barn quilts celebrate local history, farming traditions, and the art of quilting. They often become part of organized "barn quilt trails," where visitors can tour an area to view the different designs.

Barn quilts originated in the early 2000s in the Ohio as a way to honor both quilting heritage and rural communities.

Today, they can be found throughout the United States and parts of Canada. Common features of barn quilts include: Geometric designs based on traditional quilt blocks Bright, contrasting colors Sizes ranging from a few feet square to eight feet or larger Personalized patterns that may represent a family's heritage, farm history, or community values In short, a barn quilt is a piece of outdoor folk art that combines the beauty of quilting with the agricultural heritage of rural communities.

Fluid Art

Fluid art is a form of abstract painting that uses the movement and flow of liquid paints to create unique patterns and designs. Instead of applying paint with traditional brushstrokes, artists mix acrylic paints with pouring mediums to make them more fluid, then pour, tilt, swirl, or manipulate the paint across a surface such as canvas, wood, glass, or ceramic. One of the most appealing aspects of fluid art is that no two pieces are ever exactly alike. The natural interaction of color, gravity, and movement creates unexpected results, making the process both creative and experimental.
